    The very tight grouping on the left would be difficult to see from this perspective without the shadows.

    Lanes 3 and 4, 70-meter (230 feet) targets, as seen from the shooting line.

    Archers generally have spotting scopes to enable them to see their arrows at these distances, and very bright lights above the targets project a strong shadow, which is easier to see than a pencil-thin arrow 230 feet away. You can see this in the targets in the foreground, although the lighting is less bright.
