Here's the main lawn at the Harold L. Lyon Arboretum, a research and education arm of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I'm working on a 1.5 gigapixel version.
Brisk trade winds and rapidly moving clouds made this a difficult image to capture.

Intentional vignetting using F3.5. Focus and depth of field are compromised in much of the image. The strong, steady, wind also caused the GigaPan unit to wobble, even though the tripod didn't move - will try to address that issue.
Stitched with 1.0.0805 - no vignetting correction

From Makapu`u Point looking NW to the Mokapu Peninsula, home of the Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kane`ohe Bay.
I stitched this gigapan with the beta 1.1.0963 version of Stitch. Aperture was wide open (F3.5) to purposely introduce vignetting. Focus and depth of field are compromised in most of the image.

From Ka`ala to the Ko`olau Range
I'm having a difficult time geolocating this gigapan. The position of the GigaPan unit is OK, but the field of view and projection is not correct. Best to view without Google Earth, although you can determine my location using the Google Earth tool.
Stitched with Auto Pano Giga 2.0.6

A nearly closed canopy Koa (Acacia koa) forest at about 5000 ft (1524 m) elevation on the Mauna Loa Strip Road, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Hawai'i
You can see the cloud bands that make the shadow bands in the image. Also notice the many stitching errors near the top of the gigapan. I'll try to stitch in autoPano Giga to see if there is any improvement.
The `Amakihi, `Elepaio, and `Apapane were flying all around, but toying with me and my DSLR/600mm lens. :^(
I'll return regularly (but not weekly, like Alex (biodiversity).

Two Sisters of Old Hawaii, by Madge Tennent. I combined three gigapans to illustrate how context and detail can provide a more in depth appreciation of the artist's vision and technical prowess. I combined these images on
2010-05-02, thus no stitcher notes.
